TCSAAL and the City of Wimberley are proud to welcome the State's top charter programs to our upcoming 2017-18 State Cross Country Meet

ADMISSION

  • For the 2017 State Cross Country Meet, Admission fees of $5 for each vehicle containing non-participating students or adults will be charged upon entry to the park
  • Children ages 8 & under, along with qualifying athletes and coaches, are permitted free entry

TEAM ROSTERS & ALTERNATES

Ranking teams(1st-3rd in 6th-8th Grade & Varsity Groupings) advancing to Saturday are permitted substitutions as necessary but deadline for any changes is Friday, at 10:00 A.M. Any alternates that your team is bringing in case of injury should be submitted via email, full name along with grade level and birth date. Any alternates taking the place of a starting runner are to be communicated with the check-in table upon retrieval of team bags and alternates are to wear the bib otherwise assigned to the runner they are replacing.

All qualifying teams will need to resubmit a 2017-18 Cross Country Roster Form for each qualifying team. (Individual qualifiers do not need to submit this form)

ARRIVAL & PARKING INSTRUCTIONS

  • All vehicles entering the park will be received by security who will provide further parking direction. Please note that for the 2017 TCSAAL State Cross Country Meet, any vehicle containing spectators will be charged $5. Staff can accept cash, check or credit card payments but there is not an ATM on-site.
  • Team buses and vans are to first utilize roadside parking within the park if available. Please communicate this with your transportation to ensure team vans and buses are parked in a way that helps to curb congestion within the park.
  • Coaches are to check-in near the finish line on the soccer fields no later than their respective check-in time listed on the schedule. Bags will include copies of routes, facility maps with restrooms and concession information, along with chipped bibs for athletes and a list of student-athletes and their respective bib designations.

Blue Hole: A Texas Treasure

In 2005, the City of Wimberley embarked on a mission to save the Blue Hole from the threat of residential development.  After an unprecedented fundraising effort, the land was purchased by the City for use as a community park. The City has developed the newly acquired 126-acre park for the enjoyment of residents, visitors, and future generations.  It includes much needed recreational facilities for our growing community. The park includes approximately 3.5 miles of trails, picnic areas, a community pavilion, playscape, basketball court, sand volleyball court, amphitheater, and the Blue Hole Swimming Area. The entire park is open to visitors within the regular operating hours, however swimming is only allowed during the designated swimming season. The park balances the needs of the community while preserving and restoring the historic Blue Hole and surrounding ecosystems.  The City hired Design Workshop to design the park that was originally envisioned in a master plan led by the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in 2006.
